"Oh Hellll No"

You have gots to check out this hilarious video featuring everyones favorite mad tv character, Bon Qui Qui. It is by far one of the most genius collaborations a designer has ever done. Mixing comedy and fashion is just great. They even went all out with this video and incorporated more celebrities like rapper and fashionista ASAP Rocky. Who knew that in this uptight and snobbish industry we call fashion, there could be some room in a tight, size 0, apron vest for some comedy. Check this out or else I'll call "Sucurity Sucurity".

No Doubt its Fred Perry

Its official! Stylish rock band No Doubt finally released a couple of the pieces from there amazing collaboration with the classic British label, Fred Perry. How can you not love this line. For one the stylish singer and designer for LAMB, Gwen Stefani has her input in the collection so there is no way this line will not be a success. Also from the first three items released they all have a subtle use of the bands favorite Rasta colors. Rasta colors are always hard to pull off but the way Fred Perry and No Doubt incorporate them is genius. The thin lines of red, yellow, and green are subtle but also a great statement. I cant wait to get the black polo to rock it with some skinnies and a pair of chucks. Also ladies there making items for you too so check them out!

Great Gatsby

Sketches from Prada

Today a couple of the sketches for the costumes for Great Gatsby were released. I was so excited to see them because of the fact that I (a.) have an obsession with the 20's and its excellent fashion and (b.) I love the Great Gatsby and many of F. Scott Fitzgerald's books. It is also really great to see Prada designing the outfits for the movie because Prada's style today is completely modern and these sketches show that Prada can be more versatile. I cant wait to see the film in May and expect it to be similar to the book and hope it is stiff competition for the Robert Redford version

Underground

Blazer: Alexander Wang, Blouse: All Saints, Bag: Ines Figaredo , & Shoes: Isabel Marant

I finally got to use my new t4i today and had an amazing shoot with my friend Malena. We needed a place that was open and with lots of artificial light, so we decided to go to an underground parking lot. My whole concept for this shoot was to have a dark, even paranormal look. I incorporated fashion with raw, edginess, and darkness to the photographs. My favorite is the second photo. I wont blow my secret and tell you how I shot it but, I love how she is all beautiful and chic but at the same time is dark, mysterious, and even creepy (exactly what I was going for).  I cant wait to shoot with Malena again!

Blast from the Past

These photos may seem like they are over 50 years old but, they are advertisements for RRL. These images portray the fashion of the past that inspires us but, at the same time styled to be worn in the present. These advertisements are my latest inspirations for my 2013 style.

Western-ize your Wardrobe

All items from RRL.

My newest fashion obsession is western details. RRL knows how to do western in all the right ways. I wouldn't necessarily say that you should wear all the pieces together but, each piece has its own great personality. Either western shirt with a pair of black jeans (not skinnies!) and a contrast denim jacket would look rad as f**k! Also the leather pants don't need to be just for a western look. Matching it with a vintage harley tee, black leather moto jacket, and some black chucks would totally change the look of the pants completely. Lets just say I will be adding some of these great duds into my wardrobe very soon, so check back in the near future!

Cork-y?

These new Maison Martin Margiela lace ups were just released on SSENCE and I don't know what to think of them. They are pretty rad mostly because I feel like Margiela does no wrong but, are they too much? Sometimes mens wear resembles women's wear too much. Plus these shoes are a one time wear kind of thing. They make a statement but you don't want a friend saying "didn't you wear those the other day?" Well it would be great to know what you guys think so don't hesitate to comment below!

Casual Black

If you haven't noticed I kind of have a thing for two things in particular. 1. being black everything and 2. being I love Margiela. Black is the best color for all seasons. People my call you goth or emo for wearing all black but at least you will be looking fly with a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti kicks. Plus ladies, black is always the most slimming. Now for my obsession with Margiela. I love everything he seems to come out with. He knows how to push the boundaries with all his collections from his "hand painted" affect shoes to his in-side-out denim pants. Here I have picked out a couple of his classic pieces, a ring and a tee. The tee is great because its fun to just throw on with some skinnies and sneakers to go chill with some friends or even match it up with a blazer and take a nice lady out on the town. The ring is always great because it is masculine. Lots of mens jewelry can be too feminine, but this one is great because of the onyx and the distressed look done to the band. I love all these great black pieces and will try to rock them even if the haters say I'm emo.

Outfit of the Week

I love all of these pieces. I own a couple but in different colors (boots and jeans), but I am dying for all of these items. First the McQueen scarf is rad. Its perfect for the cold weather of New York but also chill to wear on a sunny day with a white tee in San Diego. I also am obsessed with the leather jacket. Its hard to find a great leather jacket in a cool olive, military green. Its so versatile and can be worn all year round. These pieces I picked out are great mostly because of the fact that they can be worn anywhere, anytime of the year. Enjoy and Happy New Year!
