Duckie Brown's S/S show was absolutely incredible. It was so minimalist, modern, and edgy, all my favorite things. Most people looking at the collection were perplexed about why the colors were not the typical "Summer" colors, but thats exactly why I loved it. It was actually good that the colors were more neutral then a crazy, saturated ones because the detail in the fabrics and the cuts and lines of the clothing were the statement in the collection, not the colors or embezzlements. For example the beautiful tan perforated jacket. It is simple in terms of color and its classic shape but its intricate and different based on the choice of fabric. But what stood out the most for me in the collection was that stripes were a main focus. The lines were so classic and so modern. The way they used incorporated the lines in different articles of clothing was genius, from Bjorn Borg short shorts to a classic car coat. I can definite see myself in the spring wearing most of this collection (especially the Florsheim shoes!).

Hey Guys/Gals!

Sorry I haven't been posting in a while but I have been super busy working like crazy. I am so excited that I am moving back to NYC today!!! I cant wait to move into my great apartment in the meat packing district that comes with an equinox gym membership. Disclosure Obsession

So all month and since before Coachella 2013, Ive been obsessed with Disclosure. Every song they make just makes me want to dance, get crazy, or even go for a run. I was first hooked with their single Latch with Sam Smith. The beat is awesome and the use of powerful, R&B vocals is so unexpected and incredibly perfect. Their new album settle came out a couple weeks ago and each track is just flawless. from January to Confess to me with Jessie Ware, who is a great friend of Guy & Howard. The two brothers are changing the world of house music and cant wait to go see them at Hard Summer!

Burberry S/S 14 Show

Finally! I got a chance to watch the Burberry S/S 14 show and I actually loved it. Thank g-d they are over using horrible neon metallic and are now doing light, icy pastels. What really sealed the deal for me was that the love of my life, Serena Williams, was in the front row. She's such a role model to me and plus I'm crushin on her too. Now back to the clothes. What was great about the collection was the wearability of the looks. I loved the deconstructed blazers and the knit hoodies over a casually dressed up pant and button up. I also loved the cool, funky, even retro sunnies they had on. I cant wait to get my hands on a pair!

Funny + Sexy + Stylish = Kristen Wiig. I honestly feel like thats all I should write for this post because those three words define her perfectly. She is officially my new celebrity and fashion crush so far this year. I don't know any women that has all three of these traits other then Kristen Wiig. Its hard to picture Kristen Wiig as "sexy" when she's on SNL dressed as Gilly or a sister from the Finger Lakes on the Lawernce Welk show. But now that she is on the big screen and a red carpet stunner, its more visible to see how attractive she is. I cant wait to see her in her new upcoming films especially Anchor Man 2.

UNIF Obsession

Okay, so If you follow me on Instagram, Renaissance Rebel Md, then you will see that Ive been posting a ton of pictures of me in UNIF or my new UNIF purchases. Ive known about this brand for a long time but just recently Ive been going crazy and making tons of purchases from them. I love their buttery, soft tanks and tee which were perfect for the long, hot days at Coachella. And their controversial snapbacks rock and everyone always wants to know where they can get their hands one on. Today, I got a package of three new items I did not have in my collection. I got a pair of their grim creepers and two beanies. The shoes have been out for a while but my size was finally available. But the beanies just were released on UNIF on monday with their badass campaign which featured two little girls going ham with Kiss makeup on. Okay, so I know Im a week late in posting about Coachella but Ive been having major withdraws from the event and have been passing the last 6 days in bed sick wishing I could go back to Indo. I use to make fun of people that go to Coachella but now realize what all the commotion is all about. It is a magical experience and one I will never forget. I now even plan on going every year. The music was amazing from Vampire Weekend to Passion Pit to Moby and to my new favorite group Disclosure. Everyone rocked and no one had a bad performance. About the fashion, I didn't get a chance to get many shots of people because I mostly forgot because I was so in the moment and also because some people I asked said no (AWKWARD!). But it was a major hipster fest. Everyone was head to toe Urban Outfitters or for the ladies LF. People make fun of what people wear to Coachella but its nothing compared to the white trash outfits people wear to StageCoach! Coachella was an amazing weekend were I heard some amazing music, made some new friends, rekindled the friendships I had, and partied like a ghetto rockstar! Cant wait for 2014! -M

Today I shoot my chicest friend ever, Fabry. Her sense of style is killer because she's not afraid to try new things and be out-of-the-box with her choices. In the photos she's wearing avant-garde pieces like her Saint Laurent black pumps to the Dolce & Gabbana snake print bodysuit. Now speaking of the shoot, I wanted to go for a completely contradictory look. By that I mean that the landscape and background would be very different from the styling of the clothes. She looks like she should be rocking these looks in an urban city but she is in a very relaxed, nanuchalant beach house. I loved photographing her and cant wait for more shoots in the future. The weather is getting so much warmer and I thought it was a great time to post some items I love from Matches Fashion that I love and create a fun, beach ready look. Im planning on taking a trip soon to Mexico, so I figured all these items would be perfect for the beach. My favorite item is the espadrilles by Manebi. At an amazingly cheap $100, they are perfect to wear even on the beach in some swimwear while sipping on a ice, cold mojito (kind of craving one). This look all in all is perfect to get yacht it out with some friends during the day or even go to a nice luau with that hot girl you found on the beach during the day ( ;) ). I cant wait to add some of these pieces to my spring wardrobe. Happy Spring! -M

Because its Hermes

Hermes is known for its quality, style, and of course very expensive price tags. Recently Hermes released a mens teeshirt for Spring 2013 that costs $91,500. Everyone cant stop babbling about the outrageous price of the shirt and its estimated $8,000 sales tax. I am here to say who cares! Most of the world can't afford Hermes in the first place so why are people so worried and angry about it. I mean even if it was $10,000 people would be bickering and complaining about the price. We all know the only people who will buy this shirt are the ultra wealthy who have nothing else to spend their money on. Also the reason why Hermes is pricing this shirt so high is for one simple reason, because they can! Hermes has a reputation for its quality, luxury goods and has a right to sell the damn shirt at what ever price they want. So with all of that said I think the shirt is rad and cant wait for Zara to come out with a copy of the shirt for the general public.

60 years

Gucci just recently released their 60 year anniversary horse bit loafers in eye catching colors for spring. They released them in tons of colors but the crackled patent leather ones are by far the coolest. I cant wait to get my hands on a pair....or two.....or three!!

Taylor

I am so happy Taylor is in town because there is no one I like to shoot with more than this girl. She's amazing because not only is she a great model but she is also a photographer, so she knows how to direct herself in a shoot and also come up with different perspectives. This is the first time most of the shots I took of her are from the chest up and I think they came out great. Cant wait for more shoots with her this coming week!
